Studio Policies, Terms & Participation Agreement

Welcome to People Who Do Pilates.

My goal is to provide a calm, intentional environment where you can build a lifelong relationship with movement. These policies are designed to protect the time, privacy, safety, and experience of everyone who practices here.

People Who Do Pilates is an instructional Pilates studio. Sessions and classes are provided for the purpose of teaching Pilates movement, technique, safe equipment use, body awareness, and the development of an individual movement practice under the guidance of an instructor.

By booking or participating in a session or class at People Who Do Pilates, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the following studio policies and terms.

Booking & Payment

All appointments and classes must be booked in advance through the studio booking system.

Payment is due at the time of booking unless otherwise arranged.

Classes, private sessions, packages, passes, and memberships are subject to the pricing and terms provided at the time of purchase.

Packages, passes, memberships, and sessions are non-transferable and may only be used by the individual who purchased them.

Unused sessions or classes are subject to the terms of the applicable package, pass, or membership.

People Who Do Pilates reserves the right to update its schedule, offerings, pricing, packages, and studio policies as the studio evolves. Applicable pricing and terms will be communicated at the time of purchase.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled without penalty when at least 24 hours' notice is provided.

Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 24 hours before the scheduled start time are considered late cancellations.

A late cancellation will result in the scheduled session being charged in full, plus a $15 late-cancellation fee.

Late Arrival

Please arrive on time and prepared for your scheduled appointment.

A 15-minute grace period is provided for late arrivals. There is no separate late-arrival fee during this grace period.

If you arrive late but within the 15-minute grace period, your session will still end at its originally scheduled time and may therefore be shortened. The session price will not be reduced due to late arrival.

Arriving more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time will be considered a no-show.

No-Shows

If you do not attend your scheduled appointment, fail to cancel beforehand, or arrive more than 15 minutes after the scheduled start time, the appointment will be considered a no-show.

A no-show will result in the scheduled session being charged in full, plus an additional $25 no-show fee.

Health & Participation

Pilates is a form of physical exercise. Please consult with your physician or another qualified healthcare provider before participating, particularly if you are pregnant, recovering from an injury or procedure, have a medical condition, take medication that may affect physical activity, or have concerns about your ability to exercise safely.

By choosing to participate, you represent that you are physically able to participate and have obtained any medical approval or clearance appropriate for your circumstances.

People Who Do Pilates is not responsible for determining your medical fitness to participate and will assume that you have obtained any medical guidance or approval necessary for your participation.

Please provide accurate information regarding relevant injuries, pregnancy, medications, medical conditions, physical limitations, or other circumstances that may affect your participation.

If your health status changes, please inform your instructor before participating in future sessions.

Pilates is a collaborative practice. Please communicate openly throughout your session regarding pain, dizziness, discomfort, unusual symptoms, or anything that does not feel appropriate.

Exercises may be modified or discontinued at any time to support your safety.

Hands-On Cueing

Instruction may include verbal cueing and, when appropriate, gentle hands-on cueing intended to support alignment, movement quality, and safe execution.

You may decline hands-on cueing at any time. Simply let your instructor know. Your preference will always be respected, and consent to hands-on cueing may be withdrawn at any point during a session.

Instruction, Equipment & Client Responsibility

People Who Do Pilates provides instructor-led Pilates education and practice. Studio apparatus and equipment are provided as part of that instruction and are not available for independent or unsupervised use.

Pilates apparatus includes springs, resistance mechanisms, moving parts, elevated surfaces, and other components that require proper instruction and supervised use.

Studio apparatus and equipment may only be used with the permission and supervision of an instructor.

Clients may not independently practice on, mount, operate, adjust, or otherwise use Pilates apparatus or other studio equipment unless instructed or given permission by an instructor.

You agree to exercise reasonable care for your own safety and the safety of others while in the studio.

You agree to follow instructor directions and studio safety procedures and to refrain from careless, reckless, unauthorized, or intentionally unsafe use of studio equipment.

Please follow all instructions regarding equipment setup, exercises, transitions, mounting and dismounting, and other studio safety procedures.

Do not attempt an exercise, movement, or equipment adjustment that has not been instructed or approved by your instructor.

If you are uncertain about how to safely perform a movement or use any piece of equipment, please stop and ask your instructor before proceeding.

Assumption of Risk

Pilates and physical exercise involve inherent risks. These may include, but are not limited to, muscle soreness, strains, sprains, falls, loss of balance, aggravation of existing conditions, and injuries associated with physical activity or the use of exercise equipment.

By choosing to participate, you acknowledge and voluntarily accept the ordinary and inherent risks associated with Pilates instruction and physical exercise.

You understand that your safety also depends upon following instruction, using equipment only as directed, exercising reasonable care, and communicating with your instructor.

You are responsible for communicating pain, dizziness, discomfort, injury, changes in your health, or any other circumstance that may affect your ability to participate safely. You should stop an exercise and notify your instructor if something does not feel appropriate.

Nothing in this agreement is intended to limit or waive any right or liability that cannot legally be limited or waived under applicable law.

Studio equipment, furnishings, and other property should be used only for their intended purposes and in accordance with studio or instructor direction.

Behavior that compromises the safety, privacy, property, or experience of others may result in the session being ended or future studio access being restricted.

Changes to Studio Policies

People Who Do Pilates may update these policies from time to time as studio operations, services, or requirements evolve.

When material changes affect your participation or purchases, updated terms will be made available through the studio or booking system.
